I love light-gun games. I miss light-gun games. Thanks to us all having fancy flat-screen televisions, it seems that we will never see a proper light-gun game in our homes again. The poor sales of Time Crisis 4 on PS4 probably doesn't help the matter. I digress.
Sega have just announced House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn, which is being tested in Sega Akihabara Building 3 this month. It marks a return to the series not seen since 2009 with Overkill on the Wii - which some may argue wasn't a proper light-gun game, as it used pointer technology rather than the traditional methods.
There is something slightly romantic about big AAA games still being produced in arcades only, so it's nice to see SEGA still supporting what continues to be an important part of Japanese gaming culture. I'm looking forward to getting a look at the game this year. I'm not looking forward to returning back to my hotel room smelling of smoke.
